It is our favourite time of the year, the most beautiful and innovative weeks have started again all over the world. The big apple started with a Big Bang and left everybody amazed. We picked our favourites to give you a little taste of the new season. The autumn/winter designs are wide ranged displaying experimental minimalism and combinations of different textured layers. Especially the mix of chiffon with thicker materials is very popular this year.
Donna Karan, Head of DKNY, chose to be different by selecting art and media, as well as random charismatic people from the streets of New York to walk the runway. The collection was very monochromatic with subtle touches of flashy colour like yellow, blue and red. DKNY successfully mirrored the fashion conscious youth of the streets and transformed it into a versatile and authentic collection.
Another woman which can not be left out is Vera Wang. Known for her wedding dresses the designer surprises with experimental collections, which could be easily worn apart from the runway.
Proenza Schouler was another brand that surprised us with its designs. The variety of prints was astonishing and seeing the combination of textures was a nice change to all the monochromatic and simplistic designs seen on the catwalks.
