World Cup Fever

To all the girls who promised their boyfriends to enjoy football this time but actually despise it. It is actually not that bad.
First of all, take your friends with you. While the guys watch the game you can talk about anything, they wont listen.
Second, find a good place you always wanted to have drink, your boyfriend will pay (we know he feels a little bad, because he made you come)
and third, its the perfect opportunity to show off your summer wardrobe. The whole word looks at the footballers wives, they should look at you as well.

And even though England didn't get that far in the World Cup but that is no reason to stop watching! There are still a lot of good looking players

We chose some bars, which are excellent for watching the game and some and enjoying one or two drinks at the same time:

The Lockside Lounge in Camden ( 75-89 Upper Walkway)

Zebrano in Soho ( 18 Greek Street)

Guanabara in Holborn (Parker Street)

The Oscars 2014

And again: The celebrities of Hollywood amazed us last night on the red carpet. And even though these public figures could wear anything they want they stayed very neutral this time, which isn't bad, because monochrome styles are still very appreciated on the catwalk and on the street. A lot of stars went for Marylin Monroe's theme: Diamond's are a girl's best friend. Subtle crystals and sequins covered the dresses this year. This year we give our fashion awards to the guests of the festivities, the Oscar Winners got enough appreciation. We hoped for some extravagancy but even Lady Gaga chose not to shock the nation this night.

Milan Fashion Week

For all the heritage brand lovers Milan had a lot to offer regarding the classics of the fashion business. Armani, Gucci, Prada, Versace,.....want more? We present you our favourite picks out of this pile of deluxe italian runway collections.

Gucci went back in time and got inspired by the sixties and combined the style with new colours. The outlines are simple and very femninine. Details of leather are used subtly and accentuate the look. As well as on the other catwalks fur can be seen in very light colour. The whole collection is very soothing regarding colours and shapes and represents the very first essentials of Gucci.

We loved what Roberto Cavalli created for his younger sub brand Just Cavalli as well as for his actual collection. His wide use of different digital prints  on a variety of garments are eyecatching. He also brought back the fringe trend, we are curious if that will come to the highstreet. And no surprise, Fur, used as little accent and focal piece. Roberto Cavalli created a mix of elegancy and edginess we really love!

Emilio Pucci surprised as well with a tribal inspired collection. Wihle leather and fur were used as well the whole theme was different to other collections. Ethno Glam in its best! We also liked the colour mix of red brwown and white. The collection looked very smooth and we loved his eye for detail.

London Fashion Week 2014

After New York it was London that had to reveal its new collections for the upcoming Fall 2014.
London showed us that not even the grey and cold atmosphere of this time of the year can bring us down. Prints, colours and a diverse mix of fabrics have taken over the catwalk. The designers reflected the diversity in culture and everyday life of London in their clothes. Some collections still reflect the impact scandinavian minimalism had on fashion. Also layering is definitely still IN, which not only suits the season but was recreated so well that we still enjoyed seeing it on the runway.
Matthew Williamson presented an explosive collection with everything included we could think of. Fur, Leather, colour and creative cuts.

As well as Willimason House of Holland used texture and colour to create an innovative collection. The desginer brand took feminine cuts and added a little twist to it. When looking at the draped chiffon and sequin covered pieces as well as the polka dots used to accentuate the garments it almost seems like the collection was inspired by a visit to the circus.

Emilio de la Morena was another designer who we like to name in our ranking. We love the feminine shapes and elegant cuts, especially the accentuation of the waist. He mixed velvet and sleek leather, which is an unusual but in our opinion a very successful combination.

Talking about the trend of mixing up patterns and textures Temperley London needs to be mentioned as well. Forgetting that this is their collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 these clothes reminded us a lot of our new summer collection. Floral prints, kimonos, jumpsuits and a variety of different colours- Well done Temperley!
