Back to School Obsession
Here at Liquorish we're fans of all things nail art and so you can imagine our excitement when we stumbled across this chalkboard nail art... The latest craze in nail art is definitely our fave so far. If you're finding it hard to imagine how it works, think one matt black base and a set of liquid chalk pens in all those typical school chalk colours!
If these wacky nails do it for you we've heard you can get them at Selfridges ..We just hope that no one mentions how long its been since schools have actually used chalk boards....

Vogue Festival 2013
How many of you lucky Liquorish ladies made it to part of the Vogue festival?? It certainly wasn't the usual image you see at a British summer festival... not a muddy wellington boot in sight. How refreshing!
Our fave part of the weekends festivities was hearing Paul Smith and Alexa Chung share their style wisdom. Paul talked about the ways in which he finds inspiration for his collections and he talked about how he uses travel, interior design magazines and old photography as inspiration for starting points for his garments...and it clearly works?
As ever Alexa Chung near single handily led the festival with regards to style... her effortlessly cool look is defo one to take inspiration from for this Spring! Although we do massively admire Paul Smith for his modest suit teamed with what can only be described as extrovert socks!

Selfridges Turns One Hundred and Four!
Harry Gordon Selfridge, a guy many
of us have become pretty familiar with over the last few months. For those of
you who haven't been lured in by the TV program's seductive show girls,
gentlemen with their tailcoats and pockets watches, and a horse and cart
or two... well here's a brief low down for you.
Selfridges & co...The iconic
yellow bags, magnificent store windows and a reputation as being the epitome of British retailing? Yes. Well, sort of. Harry
Gordon Selfridge was actually a yank who came over to London in the 1900s to
change British retailing for ever (and aren't we glad he did) Harry envisaged a
world of shopping that was exciting, full of choice and a feast for the eyes.
Not a bad description of the current Selfridges stores I'd say!
So on the company's 104th year of serving our
shopping habits far too well, we'd like to wish Selfridges a very Happy Birthday!

This weekend we've got a little more to celebrate than just two days of lie ins...
St Patricks day. Whether you're Irish or not, it's that annual excuse to wear facepaint the colour of grass and big novelty hats generally only seen in kids productions of Alice In Wonderland.Here at Liquorish we can't wait for Paddy's day to swing back around...a day for dressing up like children, subsequent giggles with good mates, and a few sips of Guinness (before it's quickly discarded having remembered why it's never your choice of drink any other time of the year)
If dressing up like a leprechaun isn't your bag and you'd like to maintain a certain air of sophistication this Sunday, never fear as Pantone named Emerald Green THE colour of 2013 and that's got to count for something, right?

Mothering Sunday Is Just Around The Corner and It Seems Chanel Has It Covered...
Roses, Jasmines, Iris and Patchouli... this Mother's day Chanel have thought of it all. It seems this year we can skip the usual misery of card shop ques and spoil our Mums rotten with some beautiful Chanel flowers to complete the obligatory bottle of her favourite Chanel scent.
