London Fashion Week 2014

After New York it was London that had to reveal its new collections for the upcoming Fall 2014.
London showed us that not even the grey and cold atmosphere of this time of the year can bring us down. Prints, colours and a diverse mix of fabrics have taken over the catwalk. The designers reflected the diversity in culture and everyday life of London in their clothes. Some collections still reflect the impact scandinavian minimalism had on fashion. Also layering is definitely still IN, which not only suits the season but was recreated so well that we still enjoyed seeing it on the runway.
Matthew Williamson presented an explosive collection with everything included we could think of. Fur, Leather, colour and creative cuts.

As well as Willimason House of Holland used texture and colour to create an innovative collection. The desginer brand took feminine cuts and added a little twist to it. When looking at the draped chiffon and sequin covered pieces as well as the polka dots used to accentuate the garments it almost seems like the collection was inspired by a visit to the circus.

Emilio de la Morena was another designer who we like to name in our ranking. We love the feminine shapes and elegant cuts, especially the accentuation of the waist. He mixed velvet and sleek leather, which is an unusual but in our opinion a very successful combination.

Talking about the trend of mixing up patterns and textures Temperley London needs to be mentioned as well. Forgetting that this is their collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 these clothes reminded us a lot of our new summer collection. Floral prints, kimonos, jumpsuits and a variety of different colours- Well done Temperley!
